MALTA ANTICA is a powdered mortar made from binders, selected aggregates, and specific additives, designed for rough-coating and grouting stone, brick, or “exposed-face” clay tile masonry to achieve an aesthetically pleasing finish.
Thanks to its appearance, which resembles that of historic lime-based mortars, MALTA ANTICA is ideal for restoring grout joints in interior or exterior cladding made of natural stone, solid bricks, terracotta tiles, or clay bricks. It is ideal for consolidating old, non-homogeneous mixed masonry, reproducing its original appearance. Excellent for grouting natural stone flooring and for constructing “exposed” masonry.
Mix the product in a concrete mixer or with a drill mixer, adding approximately 22% water (about 5 liters per 25-kg bag) until a smooth, lump-free paste is obtained. After letting the mixture rest for about 5 minutes, stir it briefly before application. It is recommended not to adjust the mixing water during application and not to remix the product once it has begun to set to avoid altering the final color of the grout lines.
It is available in various colors that replicate the appearance of traditional mortars.
